TSG Backnang
The TSG Backnang 1846 gymnastics and sports departments e. V. is a sports club in Backnang , which was founded in 1846 as the Backnang gymnastics club.
Club history
After the Second World War , the sports club was re-established as the Sports Association Backnang in May 1946 . On November 21, 1967, the club was restructured and renamed TSG Backnang . The reason for the restructuring was the promotion of the first soccer team to the regional league. TSG Backnang was not only a sports club, but also acted as the umbrella organization of the legally independent new clubs TSG Backnang Football 1919 , TSG Backnang Tennis 1925 , TSG Backnang Heavy Athletics 1920 and TSG Backnang Turnen 1846 (gymnastics is now back in the main club).
In April 1973 the club name TSG Backnang 1846 was changed to TSG Backnang 1846 gymnastics and sports departments .

Dance sports department
The dance sport department of TSG Backnang, which was formed in the 1980s, has various offers, including children's dance , jazz and modern dance , hip-hop, salsa , tap dance , oriental dance and dance groups, but also tournament dance offers (single couples and formations ).
Latin formations
The dance sport department of TSG Backnang was in the 1994/1995 season for the first time with a Latin formation in the Oberliga Süd Latin. In the meantime the club has four Latin formations. The A-Team starts in the 1st Bundesliga Latin.
A-team
The A-Team of TSG Backnang, which started in the Oberliga Süd Latin for the first time in the 1994/1995 season, danced choreographies on changing topics in the Oberliga Süd for a total of eight years:
- 1995/1996 and 1996/1997: "Black Music"
- 1997/1998 and 1998/1999: "Broadway"
- 1999/2000 and 2000/2001: "James Bond"
- 2001/2002: "America"
In the 2001/2002 season, the team took first place in the Oberliga Süd and rose to the Regional League South Latin.
In the 2002/2003 season, the team with the musical theme "America" came second in the Regionalliga Süd. In the subsequent promotion tournament to the 2nd Bundesliga Latin, the team took 3rd place. Nevertheless, the A-Team of TSG Backnang competed in the 2nd Bundesliga the next season, because the A-Team of TD TSC Düsseldorf Rot-Weiß , which started in the 1st Bundesliga, had disbanded and so the B-Team of the TSZ Aachen from the 2nd Bundesliga to the 1st Bundesliga and the A-Team of TSG Backnang as third placed in the promotion tournament from the Regionalliga Süd to the 2nd Bundesliga.
In the 2nd Bundesliga, the A-Team danced for two years to the musical theme "George Michael". At the end of the 2004/2005 season it did not make it to the league with the 7th place and was relegated back to the Regionalliga Süd. There the team danced its way back to 1st place on the subject of “Street Latin”. In the promotion tournament that followed, the team took 2nd place and was promoted back to the 2nd Latin Bundesliga.
After dancing to "Street Latin" again in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2006/2007 season, the topic in the 2007/2008 season was "Carlos Santana", with whom the team came 2nd in the 2nd Bundesliga Latin and thus achieved promotion to the 1st Bundesliga. In the 2008/2009 season, the A-Team started again with the theme "Carlos Santana" in the 1st Latin Bundesliga. The team finished the season in 7th place and was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga Latin, which it won again in the following season with the musical theme "Carlos Santana". In the 2010/2011 season, TSG Backnang's A-Team started again in the 1st Bundesliga Latin with the theme "Rolling Stones", but at the end of the season it was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga again, where it was in the 2011 / 2012 took 3rd place. After TSG Bremerhaven withdrew their A-Team from the 1st Bundesliga Latin in July 2012, TSG Backnang's A-Team was re-nominated for the 1st Bundesliga Latin for the 2012/2013 season. Here the team competed in the 2012/2013 season with the musical theme "Flashback 80s", but could not hold the league and relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of the season. In the 2013/2014 season, the team finished in 2nd place and made it back to the 1st Bundesliga.
After a season in the 1st Bundesliga, the team relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga, but managed to get promoted again the following season. In the 2016/2017 season, the team competed in the 1st Latin Bundesliga with the musical theme “Bittersweet”. In the 2017/2018 season and the 2018/2019 season the musical theme was "Las Vegas", in the 2019/2020 season "Zorro".
The coaches of the A-team are Anita Pocz, Nadine Nasser and Zoran Jovanovic.
B team
The TSG Backnang B team started in the 2001/2002 season in the Landesliga Süd TBW Latin. Already in the second season the team succeeded with the 1st place in the Landesliga Süd TBW promotion to the Oberliga Süd TBW Latin, in which the team danced until the 2008/2009 season, at the end of which the team took 1st place League stood and thus rose to the Regional League South Latin. The team danced in the Regional League South Latin until the season 2011/2012 and has been back in the Oberliga Süd TBW Latin since the 2012/2013 season.
The coaches of the B-team are Sabrina Porkert and Markus Lang.
C and D team
The C-Team of TSG Backnang started immediately in the 2003/2004 season in the Oberliga Süd TBW Latin, as there was no Landesliga Süd TBW Latin this season and the following. In the 2005/2006 season the teams were again divided into a regional league South TBW Latin and a Oberliga Süd TBW Latin. The TSG Backnang C-Team started in the national league, as did the D-Team, which started this season for the first time.
Both leagues were combined again in the 2006/2007 season, so that in the 2006/2007 season the B, C and D teams of TSG Backnang danced in the Oberliga Süd TBW Latin. The C-Team reached the 5th place and remained after the renewed separation into the regional and upper league in the Oberliga Süd TBW, the D-Team as table eight came in the Landesliga Süd TBW. In the 2008/2009 season, the D-Team of TSG Backnang no longer competed. The C-Team has been dancing in the Landesliga Süd TBW again since the 2009/2010 season.
The trainers of the C-Team are Patryk Stosik and Fee Köhler.
