The TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim (complete: Tanzsportclub Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim of the Turngemeinde 1862 Rüsselsheim eV) is a dance sport club in Rüsselsheim , which is part of the Turngemeinde 1862 Rüsselsheim eV, founded in 1862 . Today's TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim was founded on March 1st, 1974 as a TG dance group. A first formation emerged from the dance group in the 1970s , which presented standard and nostalgic dances. In the early 1980s, the TG dance group was renamed the Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim dance sport club and incorporated into the German dance sport association . First participation in formation and individual dance tournaments in standard and Latin followed . In addition to the ballet group existing in TG 1862 Rüsselsheim and affiliated to the TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim, other activities such as children's dance, New Vogue, oriental dance, tap dance and jazz and modern dance were added to the popular sports and tournament dance groups .

After the first appearances in formation dancing in the early 1980s, there was a longer break. The TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim has had dance formations again since the late 1990s. First a Latin formation was created, and later a standard formation. At times there was an A and a B team in both areas.

Standard formations

A-team

The standard formation of the TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim was founded in the summer of 2003 by dancers who had previously danced in a formation of the TTSC Kronberg founded in 1999. The team competed in the Oberliga Süd Standard for the first time in the 2000/2001 season with the musical theme "Elisabeth" and in 2002 made it to the Regionalliga Süd Standard. The 2004/2005 season ended the standard formation in second place in the Regionalliga Süd, but missed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga Standard with a fourth place in the subsequent promotion tournament. A year later, the team with the musical theme "Africa" ​​reached first place in the Regionalliga Süd. In the subsequent promotion tournament to the 2nd Bundesliga in Dorsten, the team secured promotion in 2006 with second place.

Since the 2006/2007 season, the A-Team of TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim has danced standard in the 2nd Bundesliga. Musical topics were:

  • 2006/2007: "Africa", 3rd place
  • 2007/2008: initially “Beatles”, but due to the poor performance in the first two league tournaments, a choreography on the subject of “Africa” was danced again; 6th place
  • 2008/2009: "Beatles", 4th place
  • 2009/2010: "Beatles", 4th place
  • 2010/2011: "Michael Jackson", 6th place
  • 2011/2012: "Michael Jackson", 8th place.

At the end of the 2011/2012 season, the team relegated to the Regionalliga Süd Standard, but managed to return to the 2nd Bundesliga Standard with first place in the Regionalliga. After relegated to the regional league, the team disbanded after the 2013/2014 season. Most recently, a choreography on the musical theme "Game On" was danced. The team's coaches were Peter Hahne and Tina Schildge.

In the 2016/2017 season a standard formation of the TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim started again in the Regionalliga Süd Standard and in the season 2017/2018 in the merged Regionalliga Süd / West Standard. The musical theme is "Michael Jackson", the team is coached by Tina Schildge.

B team

The B-Team started for the first time in the 2006/2007 season in the Oberliga Süd Standard, but made it to the Regionalliga Süd Standard after just one season. In the 2007/2008 season, the team entered the Regionalliga Süd with a choreography for “Africa” and secured third place in the league to participate in the promotion tournament to the 2nd Bundesliga Standard. In the 2008/2009 season, the team competed again in the Regionalliga Süd with the new “Beatles” theme and again achieved third place. The B-Team competed in league competitions in the 2009/2010 season and most recently in the 2010/2011 season.

The last coaches were Peter Hahne and Tina Schildge.

Latin formations

A-team

The A-Team of the TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim was founded at the end of 1997 by Latin tournament couples of the club and started in 1998 in the regional league South Latin with the musical theme "Grease". Just one year later, in the 1998/1999 season, the promotion to the Oberliga Süd Latin was achieved with second place in the Landesliga Süd. With a choreography to the music of "Miss Saigon", the team immediately won first place in the Oberliga Süd and was promoted to the Regional League South Latin. This was followed by five years in the Regionalliga Süd, first again on the musical theme of "Miss Saigon" and then on the themes of "Swing 2000 + 2", "Swing 2000 + 3" and two years "Music, Songs & Melodies". From the 2005/2006 season, the A-Team of the TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim danced for three years in the Oberliga Süd, initially two years on the musical theme "La Dolce Vita" and then on the theme of "Rocky", with which the team competed in the league won and rose to the Regional League South Latin. In the 2008/2009 season the team performed with the musical theme “Pulp Fiction” in the Regionalliga Süd and in the 2009/2010 season with the theme “Swing 2010” in the Oberliga Süd.

After none of the club's Latin teams competed in league competitions in the 2010/2011 season, there was again an A team in the following years that danced in the Oberliga Süd: 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 on the musical theme of "Rocky" and 2013 / 2014 and 2014/2015 on the musical theme "The Final Countdown".

In 2015, the club decided to enter into a formation community with the clubs TC Blau-Orange Wiesbaden and TSC Metropol Hofheim in the field of Latin formation . Both clubs had previously formed a formation community with TSC Fischbach. The A-Team of the formation community had won the Regionalliga Süd Latin in the 2014/2015 season and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga Latin.

In the 2015/2016 season, the formation community danced to the musical theme “The Final Countdown” and in the 2016/2017 season to the musical theme “Siamo Noi” in the 2nd Bundesliga and finished in third place. In the summer of 2017, the team moved up to the 1st Bundesliga Latin after the Grün-Gold-Club Bremen withdrew their B-Team from the Bundesliga.

In the 2017/2018 season, the team will dance to the musical theme “Here & Now” in the 1st Bundesliga Latin.

The coaches of the A-team are Sebastian Berg, Christian Konieczny and Sandra Kärger.

B team

The B-Team of TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim competed in the regional league South Latin for the first time in the 2001/2002 season with the musical theme "Miss Saigon" and immediately managed to move up to the second place in the Oberliga South Latin. In the 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 seasons the formation danced in the Oberliga Süd on the subject of "Dance & Music". The team continued to exist in the following years, but no longer competed in league tournaments.

A B-team from TSC Rot-Weiß Rüsselsheim competed again in the 2009/2010 season with the musical theme "Swing 2010" in the South Latin regional league and came in second.

The last coaches of the B-Team were Andreas Pachert and Svenja Tiegel.

More Latin teams

In the course of the cooperation with the TSC Metropol Hofheim and the TC Blau-Orange Wiesbaden, further teams could be set up in the formation community:

  • in the 2015/2016 season a B and C team, each of which competed in the Oberliga Süd Latin and a D team, which competed in the Landesliga Süd Latin
  • in the 2016/2017 season again B, C and D teams, all of which started in the Oberliga Süd
