The dance club Blau-Orange Wiesbaden e. V. is a dance sport club from Wiesbaden .

history

The club was founded on October 24, 1934 by the Bier (TTGB) dance tournament group of the Bier dance school in Wiesbaden, which had existed since 1927 . The dance school also served as a training facility. The association was given the name blue-orange based on the colors of the city of Wiesbaden.

In 1936, the association organized the European championship in standard dances organized by the Reich Association for the Care of Ballroom Dancing (RPG) and the municipal spa and pool administration Wiesbaden. European champions were John Wells and Renee Sissons from London , runner-up was the German championship pair Lottersberger.

After the Second World War, the club had to look for new training rooms because the American occupation forces had confiscated the dance school. Initially, they trained in the Kolping House, the Scala and the Nassauer Hof. In 1960 the dance club Blau-Orange Wiesbaden separated from the beer dance school and moved into new training rooms in the Josefshaus in Wiesbaden-Biebrich.

In 1967 the dance club Schwarz-Gold Wiesbaden merged with the TC Blau-Orange Wiesbaden. Unlike the TC Blau-Orange, the TC Schwarz-Gold also had members who were not tournament dancers, so that the club now also included popular sport in its offer.

Since October 31, 1976, the club has had its own club house in Wiesbaden-Bierstadt.

The dance club Blau-Orange Wiesbaden is still the organizer of important dance tournaments. So he was z. B. Organizer of the European championships in Latin American dances on May 12, 1962 (the first European championship in Latin American dances after the Second World War) and on May 27, 1967, both of which took place in the Kurhaus Wiesbaden . In 1969 the Central European Championship in Latin American dances, organized by the International Dance Association, followed. The venue was again the Wiesbaden Kurhaus.

The dance club Blau-Orange Wiesbaden had several very successful dance couples. So in 1937 the series of titles for the Teipel couple with their trainer Egon Bier as German champions began, in 1983 the series for the Riedl couple began and in 1990 that of the Burgers.

history

In 2002 a Latin formation of the club started for the first time in the Landesliga Süd Latin, group HTV-TRP-SLT (Hessischer Tanzsportverband, Tanzsportverband Rheinland-Pfalz, Saarländischer Tanzsportverband) and reached fourth place there. After the second league season in 2003 (also fourth place) she reached the Oberliga Süd as a straggler. In 2004, the Latin formation was relegated back to the national league and disbanded in 2005 after a bad season.

At the same time the formation was re-established and started with the choreography "Dance with me" in the regional league South Latin 2006. With all tournaments won, it rose to the Oberliga South Latin this season.

In 2007 and 2008, the team secured the league in the Oberliga Süd Latin with the choreographies “Dance with me” (2007) and “Kontraste” (2008).

In 2009, the formation around the coaching team Björn Langpaap and Olga Woltschanskaja celebrated promotion to the Regionalliga Süd. With the choreography “Contrasts”, the team achieved first place in all five season tournaments.

In their first year in the Regionalliga Süd, the team immediately reached third place in the overall ranking and thus, as the best newcomer, consolidated its claim to the starting place in the higher league. The theme "Ethno" was danced, in the original by the TSZ Velbert .

In the 2010/2011 season the formation danced in the Regionalliga Süd to the musical theme “Fame”. This choreography also came from TSZ Velbert, whose A-Team started with a new choreography that season. Wiesbaden danced its first place in all five season tournaments and thus became the clear winner of the Regionalliga Süd 2010/2011 for the first time. The Latin formation took part in the promotion tournament to the 2nd Bundesliga, which was organized in Rüsselsheim. The team reached the 3rd place behind the B-Team of the TSZ Velbert and the A-Team of the Ruhr-Casino Bochum .

In the 2011/2012 season the formation danced again to the musical theme "Fame" in the Regionalliga Süd. The Latin formation once again won first place in all five season tournaments and was thus the winner of the Regionalliga Süd 2011/2012. In the promotion tournament to the 2nd Bundesliga, the team reached 3rd place on May 19, 2012 in Buchholz and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga Latin. In the next season, the team rose again to the regional league.

In May 2014, the team from TC Blau-Orange Wiesbaden joined forces with the formation community TSC Metropol Hofheim / TSC Fischbach, which also started in the Regional League South Latin, to form the formation community Blau-Orange Wiesbaden / TSC Metropol Hofheim / TSC Fischbach (formation community Rhein-Main). The formation community danced in the 2014/2015 season to the musical theme “The Final Countdown” and reached 1st place. In the promotion tournament to the 2nd Bundesliga Latin, the formation community reached 2nd place and secured promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.

In 2017, the formation community was nominated as the third place in the 2nd Bundesliga for the 1st Bundesliga Latin after the Green-Gold Club Bremen withdrew its B-Team from the Bundesliga.
