The VfL Bochum 1848 eV dance sport department is a dance sport club in Bochum . The club, founded in 1934, is an independent department of VfL Bochum 1848 e. V. Until March 2016 it was called Ruhr-Casino Bochum e. V. - TSC in VfL Bochum 1848 e. V.
The club has a wide range of tournament dance sports , especially in the areas of Latin American dances as pair and formation dances , as well as offers in popular sports and tango. The association is also active in the field of children and young people and offers a range of early dance education, hip-hop, disco dance and, since 2016, standard and Latin dances. The club has had the “Cheerdance” division since the end of 2016 and is here with four “Pom” and “Hip-Hop” groups who also take part in championships.
Latin formations
A-team
The A-Team of the Ruhr-Casino Bochum started in the 2004/2005 season for the first time in the regional league West Latin with the topic “AIDA”. After the team was able to win all tournaments in the league, it also took 1st place in the promotion tournament to the Oberliga West Latin. In the Oberliga West, too, the team was able to win all tournaments in the 2005/2006 season and thus qualified for participation in the promotion tournament to the Regional League West Latin, which the team also won.
In the 2006/2007 season the A-Team started with the new topic “Ethno” in the Regionalliga West Latin and finished in 3rd place. In the 2007/2008 season, the team won all tournaments in the Regionalliga West and rose to the 2nd Bundesliga Latin after winning the promotion tournament. There the A-Team competed with the musical theme "Dreamgirls", but could not hold the league and at the end of the 2008/2009 season they were relegated back to the Regionalliga West.
In the 2010/2011 season, the team was able to win the regional league West Latin and the subsequent promotion tournament to the 2nd Bundesliga Latin and thus rose to the 2nd Bundesliga, where in the 2011/2012 season, the team with the musical theme “Fame "Finished in 2nd place, the" march through "into the 1st Bundesliga under the coaches Lars Biercher and Miriam Perplies succeeded. In the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 seasons, the team danced to the musical theme "For you" in the 1st Bundesliga Latin (6th and 5th place respectively). In the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 seasons the musical theme was “Up High on Heels”. At the end of the 2015/2016 season, the team was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga Latin.
The coaches of the A-team in the 2016/2017 season are Lars Biercher and Robin auf'm Kamp.
B team
The B-Team of the Ruhr-Casino Bochum emerged in 2005 from the association's development group. In the 2005/2006 season, the team competed in the West Latin regional league for the first time with the theme “AIDA”. By reaching 1st place in the league, the team qualified for participation in the promotion tournament to the Oberliga West Latin, in which it achieved 3rd place and thus promotion to the Oberliga West Latin.
In the Oberliga West, the team reached 2nd place in the 2006/2007 season. In the subsequent promotion tournament to the Regionalliga West Latin, the team reached 4th place and so entered the Oberliga West again in the 2007/2008 season with the new topic "Ethno", where it finished 5th in the end.
By the end of the 2010/2011 season, the team entered the Oberliga West Latin and finished the season in 2nd place in the league. The team won the promotion tournament to the West Latin Regionalliga and danced in the West Latin Regionalliga until the 2014/2015 season. In the 2014/2015 season, the team won the league with the musical theme "Up on high heels" and was able to secure promotion to the 2nd Latin Bundesliga by winning the promotion tournament. In the following 2015/2016 season she also danced again to the musical theme "Up on high heels", but could not stay in the 2nd Bundesliga and was relegated to the West Latin regional league. In the 2016/2017 season, the team will dance to the musical theme of "Fame".
The trainers are Marcel Keruth and Nadine Schulze, who replaced the long-time coaching duo Lars Biercher and Robin auf'm Kamp for the 2016/2017 season.
C team
Since the beginning of March 2008 there has been a third Latin formation in the club, the C-Team, which competed in the regional West Latin league for the first time in the 2008/2009 season with the theme of “Pop Classics”. The formation won the league reached promotion to the Oberliga West with the 2nd place in the promotion tournament. Since then the team has danced in the Oberliga West Latin.
In the 2012/2013 season, the team with the theme “Fame” won all five league tournaments with the best possible rating of a total of 25 ones and thus qualified for the promotion tournament to the regional league. The team also won the promotion tournament and started in the 2013/2014 regional league West Latin.
In the regional league West Latin, the team danced again to the musical theme of "Fame". Under the coaches Miriam Perplies, Gaby Nolting and Andreas Schindler, the league could not be held, so the team started again in the Oberliga West Latin in the 2014/2015 season. It finished here with the topic “For You” with the 3rd place, whereby it qualified for the promotion tournament under the coaches Sebastian Tiemann and Andreas Schindler.
In the 2015/16 season, the team placed itself again with the theme "For You" under the coaches Marcel Keruth and Nadine Schulze in the midfield and took 4th place in the Oberliga West Latin.
D team
In the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 seasons, a D-Team also competed for the Ruhr-Casino Bochum in league competitions in the West Latin regional league.
