Youth work

Model character

The youth work of the TG Rüsselsheim has a model character. In 1996 the organized youth club (at that time the youth technical committee) created the TG youth center. Today young people have voting rights in the executive board, in the entire board, in the advisory board, as well as three times at the delegate assembly. It has its own budget and its own statutes.

activities

In order to get young people enthusiastic about their commitment in and for the club, the Youth Committee was set up in 1990, which is still a model for many other clubs. With the introduction of an independent, cross-departmental youth work, the TG was one of the pioneers.

It is exclusively young people and young adults who have been involved since 1999 under the new name “TG-Jugend”. The TG-Jugend has its own board. The spokesperson elected by the young people has a seat and vote on the executive board of the association. The TG-Jugend also independently plans the annual program, including holiday games (since 1989), ball sports days, music events, "Rent a Nikolaus", participation in city measures for the integration of young people from abroad, "24-hour beach volleyball tournaments" and a regular sports program for Teenagers .

The club's youth center, inaugurated in 1998, is the focus of almost all activities.

The club area

The TG center was established in the 1950s. The club area was expanded in the 1980s and completed in the 1990s. In 2006 the sports kindergarten followed in the newly created rainbow park.

Over the years, the club's own premises have been continuously expanded. The TG sports and health center was initially built on the site on which the old Jahnhalle and a sports field with athletics facility had previously been located. In addition to the office on the first floor of the underground station, there is a restaurant with a bowling alley , a sauna with an outdoor area and several lounges. The Jahnhalle is attached to the building and is used, for example, by table tennis players or gymnasts to practice their sport. Behind the main building is the tennis hall with two playing fields on a granulate floor and the fitness area together. There are also additional clay courts in the outdoor area. A gymnastics hall with parquet flooring, which can also be used for dance events, was added in 1996. In the anniversary year 2012, the main building was extensively renovated.

The remaining area was used in 1998 for a youth and children's area, where you can now find a youth center with a terrace and barbecue area, playground, boules and two beach volleyball fields.

2002 TG took from the city a part of the Opel indoor pool to where the fitness area " t o g ether" to set up. The together has been on the club's premises since June 2012. For this purpose, a 500 m² indoor tennis court was converted into a modern fitness room.

Since 2003, a large solar system has been installed on the roof of the club's own tennis hall , which was inaugurated by Federal Environment Minister Jürgen Trittin .

In 2005/2006 the area of the association was expanded to include part of the neighboring former barracks area, which the association was able to acquire. A sports and exercise kindergarten was set up in the listed barracks building.

In 2008 the sports kindergarten was expanded to around 100 childcare places. In addition, the private secondary school “Europa Schule Dr.” moved into the first floor of the former barracks building. Obermayr ”.

In 2009 the sports kindergarten was spun off into a non-profit company, the TG-Kita-GmbH. The sole shareholder remains the TG 1862 eV Rüsselsheim.

In 2013 the sports kindergarten was expanded again. In the sports center of the TG, the former bowling alley was gutted and the "Sportkita II" was built there. This facility currently offers space for 36 U3 (crèche) children in 3 groups.
