Antoine Predock

Antoine Predock (* 1936 in Lebanon , Missouri ) is an American architect .

He is the owner of Antoine Predock Architect PC, founded in 1967, in Albuquerque , New Mexico, and has offices in Los Angeles and Taipei (Taiwan). Predock first studied at the University of New Mexico and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Columbia University . Predock is licensed to practice in numerous US states. He is also registered as an interior designer and landscape architect . He mainly designs buildings in the southwest of the USA, where he always draws his inspiration from regional building traditions. Stylistically, many of his buildings are attributed to postmodernism .

Predock first attracted US-wide attention in 1970 with the La Luz Community project in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His first victory in a nationwide competition was at the Nelson Fine Arts Center at Arizona State University. 1985 Predock was awarded the Rome Prize of the Rome American Academy excellent. In 2005 he made it to the final selection for the National Design Award in the architectural design category. In 2006 the American Institute of Architects awarded him its highest award, the gold medal. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum for lifetime achievement. In 2014, Antoine Predock was elected a member ( NA ) of the National Academy of Design in New York .
