Eastern Illinois University

The Eastern Illinois University (EIU) is a state university in Charleston in the US state of Illinois . The college was founded in 1895 as the Eastern Illinois State Normal School . There are currently 7,806 students enrolled after several years of declining numbers.

The EIU sports teams are the Panthers . The college is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference , the soccer team and swimmers participate in The Summit League .

Special study opportunities

Thanks to sponsorship, the Lumpkin College of Business and Applied Sciences has three schools: Business, Family and Consumer Sciences with - as a special feature - a Master of Arts program in Aging Studies and, thirdly, technology with - as a special feature - a double Master's MBA and MSc Well equipped in renewable energy and in new buildings.
