Zeuxis (sculptor)
Zeuxis ( Greek Ζεῦξις ) was a probably in the 2nd half of the 2nd century BC. Active ancient Greek sculptor . His name is passed down from a signed seated figure found in Rome , which according to current knowledge most likely represents the philosopher Karneades , which is now in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art (Inv.-No .: 09.221.4).
In his work, Zeuxis evidently based himself on the great classics of Greek sculpture.
