Zhao Dayong

Zhao Dayong ( Chinese  赵大勇 , Pinyin Zhào Dàyǒng ; * 1970 in Fushun , People's Republic of China ) is a Chinese artist, entrepreneur, publicist and director.

Life

From 1988 to 1992 Zhao studied at the Lu Xun Art Academy in Shenyang. He then worked as a freelance artist and marketing director in Beijing and later in Guangzhou. In 1997 he founded the Guangzhou Dake design agency. In 1998 he started working as a director for commercials. He was also founding editor of the now discontinued "Culture & Morals" magazine on contemporary art in China. Since 2002, Zhao has turned to the expression of digital video.

The film The High Life won the FIPRESCI Award and the Silver Digital Award at the Hong Kong International Film Festival 2010 and the Werner Fassbinder Prize and the FIPRESCI Jury Prize at the Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival in November 2010.
