Ziad Jaziri (also Zied ) (born July 12, 1978 in Sousse ) is a former Tunisian football player . He is currently the sports director of the Étoile Sportive du Sahel .

Jaziri was an active soccer player for Tunisia from 1999 to 2007. He played in the sturn and scored a total of 14 goals in 64 games for the Tunisian national team .

His career began at Étoile Sportive du Sahel . In 1999 he was appointed to the professional squad by Jean Fernandez , the then French football coach of Étoile and who is considered to be the discoverer of Zinédine Zidane . Together with Francileudo Silva dos Santos he formed a strong storm duo. Later, the two played together in the Tunisian national team and contributed a large part to the win of the 2004 African Cup .

Jaziri took part in the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea and was in Roger Lemerre's squad at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. There he retired with Tunisia early in the preliminary round after some controversial decisions by the referee .
