Ziegeleiapparatebau was a former factory for the production of transport machines and vehicles for roof tiles as well as a place that has risen in today's Planken residential area in the area of ​​the Boxberg district of Schweigern in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

The company Ziegelei-Apparatebau GmbH , which gave the residential area its name , has been manufacturing transport machines and vehicles for roof tiles at the location since 1925. According to the company, more than 680 complete systems had been delivered to brickworks in Germany and abroad by 1950. In 1970, Ziegelei-Apparatebau GmbH was sold to GEZE GmbH and a branch was established for the production of door closers and sliding fittings.

The place came as part of the formerly independent municipality Schweigern on December 1, 1972 to the city of Boxberg.

In 1999 a new technical center was built on the company premises and the subsidiary GEZE Sonderkonstruktionen was created , which manufactured special solutions for sliding and revolving door systems . In 2015, GEZE GmbH relocated its production to Leonberg and sold the site to Hartmut Ruck Bau GmbH .
