Goat races (Engl. Goat racing ) is an event that originated in Buccoo on the island of Tobago has. It was started in 1925 by a barbadian , Samuel Callendar, and for historical reasons it takes place on the Tuesday after Easter , known in Trinidad and Tobago as Easter Tuesday and an unofficial holiday. The Buccoo Goat Race Festival annually attracts thousands of spectators, mostly from Trinidad.

preparation

The goats are trained for at least two months before the race to develop speed and strength. With a rope tied around the goat's neck, a trainer teaches the goat to run faster and faster until the goat is right in front of or next to the trainer. The trainer also includes swimming in the workout to build the goat's strength and muscle mass .
