Target drama
A basic conception of the dramatic plot structure is referred to as a target drama . Alternative names are generally unfolding drama , conflict drama or synthetic drama .
In a target drama, a certain incident or process takes place at the beginning of the presentation, which acts as a trigger for further events and thus allows the plot to unfold. Even if a previous history can play a certain role, the course of action is based on an event in the future, the eponymous goal.
The focus of the action is usually an internal or external conflict:
- An internal conflict exists inside the hero who is torn between two decisions.
- An external conflict, on the other hand, exists between the protagonist and an antagonist , an opponent who pursues a goal that is contrary to the hero's intentions.
Examples of target dramas are Sophocles ' Antigone or Schiller's Cabal and Love .
The target drama is in contrast to the analytical drama .
