The Zilva peaks up to 2100 m high twin peaks in Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . They rise up between the two branches of the Drummond Glacier .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped them using aerial photographs from Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. from the years 1955 to 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1959 after the British biochemist Sylvester Zilva (1884-1956) from the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine , one of the pioneers in the production of synthetically produced vitamin C .
