The Zimní Stadion Karlovy Vary is an ice hockey stadium in Karlovy Vary . The hall, which was originally opened in 1947, was the home ground of HC Energie Karlovy Vary until the end of the 2008/09 season .

history

The originally open stadium in Karlovy Vary was built in 1947. The stadium was not covered until 1975. In 1990, the renovation of the venue began, which has since had a capacity of 4,680 spectators.

In the 2007/08 season of the highest Czech division, the Extraliga , HC Energie Karlovy Vary reached the playoff final against HC Slavia Prague . The ice rink in Karlovy Vary was sold out eight times in a row, while an average of 3,198 spectators attended the club's games in the regular season.

From summer 2009, the newly built KV Arena, with a capacity of 6,000, replaced the stadium as the home ground of HC Energie.
