The Pyongyang Circus is the venue of the North Korean State Circus in Pyongyang .

The building was completed in 1989 and on May 1 , the Labor Day , opened. It is located south on Kwangbok Road in the Chukjon-dong district of the Mangyŏngdae-guyŏk district .

The building extends over a total area of ​​70,000 m² and has five halls, including some for smaller theater performances. It has a capacity for 3500 visitors. The hexagonal floor plan of the three main halls is characteristic of the building with the green roofs.

The state circus company

The state circus was founded on June 10, 1952. He produced a total of 1200 performances by 2012 and some of them also performed in Asia, Europe, Africa and South America.
