The Cistercian Monastery of El Císter (Córdoba) was 1621-2017 a monastery of Cistercian nuns in Cordoba in Spain .
history
Luis Fernández de Córdoba founded a nunnery in 1621 in Guadalcázar, Valle Medio del Guadalquivir , Province of Córdoba , which moved to Córdoba in 1671 (under Bishop Francisco de Alarcón y Covarrubias) to today's Calle Carbonell y Morand No. 16. The church was completed in 1725. The monastery was known as Monasterio de la Purísima Concepción (also: Monasterio de la Inmaculada Concepción , "of the Immaculate Conception") or El Císter . In 2017 the convent belonging to the Cistercian Congregation of San Bernardo (CCSB) was dissolved . The place was repopulated by the monks "Los Esclavos de la Eucaristía y de María Virgen" who belong to the Schoenstatt Movement .
