The Cistercian monastery of Los Silos was 1649-1836 a monastery of Cistercian nuns in Los Silos on Tenerife .

history

The San Sebastián nunnery was founded in 1649 in northwestern Tenerife by a wealthy couple for three of their daughters and settled with Saint Bernard women. It was disbanded in 1836 in the wake of the disaster in Spain . The monastery building, which has served the city administration of Los Silos since 1912, was listed as a historical monument in 1986, renovated in 2000 and currently houses the city library and the tourist information office.
