Inch thread

Inch threads are threads whose dimensions are measured in inches .

The following standards exist for inch threads:

• Whitworth thread - especially for pipe threads, especially house installation, also used in continental Europe
• British Association Screw Thread - BA threads, mostly used in the UK
• National Pipe Thread - US thread standard for self-sealing, tapered pipe fittings
• Unified Thread Standard - especially for screws from the United States and Canada
