Zone (band)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ZONE was a J-Pop band formed in Sapporo , Japan in 1999 . She made her breakthrough with the single GOOD DAYS , the most popular song is Secret Base ~ kimi ga kureta mono ~ . ZONE can be assigned to a new genre, the Bandol (Band + Idol ) and was under contract with Studio Runtime.

ZONE was founded by Takayo Ōkoshi (* 1985) and seven other dancers, and over time it has shrunk to just four members. After this became known, the four girls began to learn instruments to support their singing and dancing.

In late 2003, Takayo left the band and was replaced by Tomoka. This occupation lasted until the end. On March 31, 2005, the band broke up, three members graduated from high school and went their own way. The "Spring Tour 2005" was the band's last tour, the formation's last appearance took place on April 1, 2005 in front of a sold out house at Nippon Budokan . The last song played was Secret Base ~ kimi ga kureta mono ~ . In the same year a live recording of this performance was released on DVD.

Miyu began a solo career after the formation ended. Maiko founded the 6-piece J-Pop formation Maria in early 2006 .

For the tenth anniversary, Tomoka Nishimura, Maiko Sakae and Miyu Nagase came together again in 2011 for a charity concert. After that, Sakae and Nagase continued the band as a duo and released treasure of the heart again as ZONE, a single until Nagase was released in February 2013.
