Christian Carl Theodor Ludwig Sethe

Christian Carl Theodor Ludwig Sethe (born July 19, 1798 in Kleve ; † March 31, 1857 in Stettin ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Christian Sethe, son of Christoph Wilhelm Heinrich Sethe , was a lawyer and civil servant, most recently a secret finance councilor and provincial tax director in Stettin. He had been close friends with Heinrich Heine since they went to school at the Düsseldorf Lyceum. Later they were fellow students at the University of Bonn. In 1819 Heine wrote the "Fresco Sonnets to Christian S." In 1844, Heine sent him his verse story Deutschland: Ein Wintermärchen .

He was married to Wilhelmine Bölling. Her daughter Anna Sethe was Ernst Haeckel's first wife .
