Zoom Records
Zoom Records was an American independent label from Arizona .
Zoom Records was founded in 1959 by two students from Catalina High School in Tucson , Arizona . Burt Schneider and Ray Lindstrom were only 17 years old at the time: “We asked a lot of questions and just learned by doing,” Lindstrom recalls. Zoom was the first rock and roll label in Southern Arizona.
The first release was Jack Wallace's single I Think of You / You Are the One , two shallow teen pop songs. Further records were released by 1966 - noteworthy is the single from Nitebeats ( Lonesome Road Rock b / w Nightbeat ) and Send-Di , an instrumental by King Rock & the Knights that became a hit in Pittsburgh and by rock'n'roll -DJ “Mad” Mike Metrovich was used as the theme song.
Zoom was also the first label of Ray Lindstrom, who started his career in the record business as a label operator and producer. Zoom's last single was released in 1966. In 2001, Zoom released a CD with the complete recordings under the title Zoom Records - The Anthology: Rockin 'Tucson in the 50's! published.
