To Mao

Zu Mao ( Chinese  祖 茂  /  祖 茂 , Pinyin Zŭ Mào ; * in the 2nd century; † 189 ) was an officer of General Sun Jian towards the end of the Han Dynasty in ancient China.

He fought against Dong Zhuo's general Hua Xiong in the battle of Sishui Pass , but had to flee after his surprise attack. To enable his master Sun Jian to escape, he exchanged helmets with him. Instead of Sun Jian, Hua Xiong pursued and killed him, but Sun Jian escaped.
