Zuiko is the brand name of lenses from Olympus that fit their older analog cameras as well as digital SLR cameras of the Olympus E system .

When Olympus came onto the market in 2003 with a digital SLR camera for interchangeable lenses , suitable lenses were also offered under the familiar name, adapted to the Four Thirds standard .

The compact E-System lenses cover a focal length range from 7 to 300 mm (corresponds to 14 to 600 mm small image ). The digital Zuiko lenses are divided into the quality categories "Standard", "Pro" and "TopPro", whereby the higher classes not only stand out in terms of optical quality, but are also protected against dust and splash water for professional use. While there is also a choice of prime lenses , the emphasis is on high quality zoom lenses .

The lenses of the new series are optimized for use on digital SLR cameras thanks to the Four Thirds standard. The manufacturer does not have an integrated optical image stabilizer for the lenses because the majority of Olympus camera housings in the E-System already have a sensor-based image stabilizer integrated into the camera housing .

Another advantage of the Zuiko lens series is the almost telecentric design.

Since the end of 2007 there have also been Zuiko lenses with ultrasonic drive, called SWD (= Supersonic Wave Drive ) at Olympus .
