Under co-education is understood in linguistics a special form of word formation , specifically the derivative , in which a Syntagma , so a word group with addition of an affix a new word is created. Thus, "x falls wood" with the addition of the suffix "-er" becomes the combination "lumberjack". In a similar way, words like “blue eyes” (from: “blue eyes” + suffix “-ig”), “red cheeked”, “gold digger” come from. These words cannot simply be interpreted as determinative compounds , since the lexemes * "eyig", * "cheeky", * "gräber" (in the sense of someone who digs) do not exist.
