The Twelve Apostles (English: Twelve Apostles ) are a mountain range that extends in Cape Town (South Africa) from the plateau of Table Mountain along the coast of the Atlantic in a south-westerly direction to Hout Bay . The area has been part of the Table Mountain National Park since 1998 .

Despite their name, which refers to the twelve disciples of Jesus, the elevations on the coast of the Cape Peninsula are a sequence of 18 mountain peaks and valleys in between. The mountains consist of Table Mountain sandstone and, up to Table Mountain, have heights of up to 800 meters. The Maclear's Beacon as the highest point of Table Mountain is 1087 meters high. The other peaks are called (from north to south): Blinkwater Peak, Porcupine, Jubilee Barrier, Valken, Kasteel, Postern, Wood, Spring, Slangolie, Corridor, Grootkop, Separation, Victoria, Grove, Llandudno Peak, Llandudno Corner and Hout Bay Corner .
