The Table Mountain National Park ( English Table Mountain National Park , TMNP ) is a National Park in the province of Western Cape in South Africa and UNESCO World Heritage Site .
Located on the southwestern tip of Africa, Table Mountain National Park encompasses the mountainous scenery running south from Table Mountain in Cape Town , stretching from Signal Hill in the north to Cape Point in the south on the Cape Peninsula . The narrow headland with its valleys, bays and beaches is framed by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the warmer waters of False Bay to the east. Two world-famous sights are located within the park area: Table Mountain and the Cape of Good Hope . The Cape Peninsula is only partially part of the national park.
The park is known for its many scenic attractions, such as the rich, diverse and unique fauna and flora, the landscape with its rugged cliffs, steep slopes and sandbanks, but also for history, culture and leisure opportunities.
Almost everywhere visitors have free access to the park; at the Cape of Good Hope, at Boulders Beach and in the Silvermine Nature Reserve , however, entrance fees are charged.
