In-Quest is a Belgian progressive - death metal band from Turnhout , which in 1992 under the name System Shit was founded.

history

The band was formed in 1992 under the name System Shit and three demos were released. In 1994 the band was renamed In-Quest and consisted of singer NG, guitarist Wim Roelants, bassist Manu Van Tichelen and drummer Gert Monden. In 1997, the debut album Extrusion: Battlehymns was released. Two years later Jan Geenen joined the band as the second guitarist and the release of the second album Operation: Citadel followed. After the release, bassist Van Tichelen left the band and was replaced by Douglas Verhoeven. Singer NG left the band shortly afterwards. The EP Destination: Pyroclasm followed three years later , with Sven De Caluwé ( Aborted ) now singing. After the album Epileptic was released a year later , De Caluwé left the band. On the album was with the song In for the Kill a cover version of the song by Pro-Pain included. After singer Mike Löfberg joined the band, a tour through Europe followed in December 2004 with Fear Factory and Mnemic . Then bassist Manuschluss left the band and was replaced by Joel De Coster. The next album, The Comatose Quandaries, followed in mid-June 2005 . The next album Made Out of Negative Matter followed in 2009 .

style

The band plays progressive death metal that combines many influences. The guitars are particularly reminiscent of Mastodon . The music can be compared to the works of Meshuggah and Textures .
