Special purpose association for waste management in north-west Upper Franconia is a special purpose association for waste management for Coburg and the administrative districts of Coburg , Lichtenfels and Kronach .

history

The Zweckverband was founded in 1974 by the districts of Coburg, Kronach, Lichtenfels and the city of Coburg and has since been responsible for the disposal and recycling of waste from around 263,000 residents. In 1989, the Coburg waste-to-energy plant went into operation. In addition, there is responsibility for several green waste dumps in the region as well as a waste and residual waste dump in Blumenrod .
