List of breeds of chicken

The domestic chicken breed Dwarf Cochin (old name Peking Bantam ) is an old Chinese breed of bantam . It is one of the "original dwarfs" and exists in 24 different colors. There are five colors of these, also with curly feathers.

These feather-rich, low-set and well-rounded chickens with foot fletching are also called "rolling shuttlecock" in breeders' circles. The animals are single-combed.

Dwarf Cochins are sturdy animals, but because of their low position and the foot fletching, they need a clean and dry stable and exercise area. The dense plumage also requires more thorough parasite prophylaxis.

The animals are kept exclusively because of their attractive appearance and become very trusting. Breeding is quite possible because the hens are reliable chicken .

Large form

The existing large breed Cochin has a completely different origin than the dwarf Cochin. Only the outside is very similar. There is no known large form of the dwarf Cochin.
