Cyclone family

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cyclone family , also called cyclone series, describes a sequence of low pressure areas (cyclones) in the same frontal zone . Typically, a cyclone family consists of three to five cyclones that move about a day or two apart.

Typical of the westerly weather conditions, which occur all year round in Europe , are the North Atlantic cyclone families. The weather remains changeable with a lot of precipitation and wind, interrupted by brief cheers.
