musl is a C standard library for Linux operating systems that is optimized for static linking . It is used as standard in Alpine Linux and OpenWrt , while Void Linux supports several C standard libraries (currently glibc and musl). There is also a project to use musl as the Hardened Gentoo C standard library .
Musl has been supported by gcc since May 2015 .
