Attendees

mode

In contrast to the previous season , the following mode changes were decided by the responsible committee:

  • Similar to the NHL and the DEL , both teams only have a maximum of 4 field players in the extension of a game.
  • The previous form of determining the two athletic relegated teams in the form of play-downs as a round of relegation for the last six teams will be replaced by play-downs in the play-off mode of the last four teams.
  • By changing the play-down mode, the season is over for the teams in 9th and 10th place after the preliminary round.
  • In the last possible play-off or play-down game in a series, the game is extended until a hit is scored. The previously common decision by a penalty shootout will be abolished.
  • Before a penalty shootout, the inner lanes of the ice rink are reprocessed.

Player licenses

  • A maximum of 15 field players with a German player license and born before January 1, 1983 or without a German gaming license per game may be listed on the score sheet.
  • A maximum of 5 players without a German player license may be listed on the score sheet, but an unlimited number of players without a German player license can be signed up until the transfer deadline.
  • Players who are eligible to play for a selection of the DEB and who were born on or after January 1, 1983 can get a sponsorship license for a team in the Oberliga .
  • Funding license players must have played at least ten games for the second division team by the end of the transfer period (January 31) in order to continue to be eligible to play in the second division.

Preliminary round

Closing table

A team was awarded three points for a win after regular time, if the game was tied after 60 minutes, both teams received one point, and the winner of the five-minute extra time or after a necessary penalty shootout was awarded an additional point. If a team lost in regular time, it received no points.
