1976 Monza 4-hour race

The 15th 4-hour race in Monza , also Trofeo Filippo Caracciolo, 4 Ore di Monza, Autodromo Nazionale di Monza , took place on April 25, 1976 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza and was the fourth round of the sports car world championship of that year.

The race

The second outing of the new Porsche 936 in the sports car world championship in 1976 led to its first victory. After Rolf Stommelen had taken fifth place with his car in the race debut at the Nürburgring , Jochen Mass and Jacky Ickx won in Monza in chassis 02. At the finish, the lead over the Alpine-Renault A442 of Henri Pescarolo and Jean-Pierre Jarier was one lap .
