Afabubu ( Afabubo ) is an East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Luro ( Lautém municipality ).

geography

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Afabubu had an area of ​​35.31 km². Now there are 15.61 km². The Suco is located in the west of the administrative office of Luro. Afabubu borders the Suco Wairoque in the northeast, Lacawa in the east and Baricafa in the southeast . In the north is the Lautém administrative office with its Sucos Ililai and Euquisi , in the west the municipality of Baucau with its Sucos Saelari , Sagadate , Atelari (administrative office Laga ) and Uacala (administrative office Baguia ). The Laivai River flows along the northwestern border . Along the border with Lautém the Abuti flows towards it , along the border with Sagadate the Liqueliu . The Bociliu comes directly from Afabubu .

In Afabubu there are no large towns worth mentioning. There is a primary school in Odoforo . The place is so remote that for the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2007 , for the only polling station in Suco there, the ballot boxes had to be transported by helicopter. The place Sare Lari was defeated by Afabubu to Suco Lacawa between 1999 and 2004. Before that, Afabubu had 969 inhabitants.

The two Aldeias Dalari and Jefaliu are located in Afabubu . According to maps, however, the place Dalari is in the east of Sucos Wairoque.

Residents

The Suco has 439 inhabitants (2015), of which 206 are men and 233 women. The population density is 28.1 inhabitants / km². There are 78 households in the Suco. Over 98% of the population name Makasae as their mother tongue. Minorities speak Sa'ane or Tetum Prasa .

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Agusto Feliciano Ramos Branco elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected.
