The Arena Synchron GmbH (formerly Arena Film GmbH & Co. KG Synchronous ) is a production company for the synchronization of films and television series based in Berlin .

history

The company was founded in 1972 by Berliner Synchron and the Kirch Group . Until 1997 the Arena Synchron was located in the premises of Berliner Synchron in Berlin-Lankwitz . Then the company moved to the former DEFA dubbing studios in Berlin-Johannisthal . Since 2003 it has been based on the former AEG site on Hohenzollerndamm in Berlin-Schmargendorf .

After the insolvency of the Kirch subsidiary TaurusMediaTechnik in 2002, Arena Synchron took over their orders, including a. the series The Simpsons , which is still largely recorded in Munich.

The actor and film salesman Walter Ambrock was the managing director of Arena Synchron until 2007. His successor is Björn Herbing.
