Big Time Rush is an American television series that first aired on November 28, 2009 in the United States. In Germany it has been broadcast on the Nickelodeon channel since April 24, 2010 . The series is about four teenage friends who suddenly became famous as a band.

As announced in July 2013, the fourth season is the last of the series. The series finale Big Time Dreams aired on July 25, 2013.

action

The four friends Kendall Knight, James Diamond, Carlos Garcia and Logan Mitchell live in Minnesota and are ice hockey players . One day the world-famous and successful producer Gustavo Rocque announces that he will be traveling through America and looking for the new star in the music world. However, this search goes rather badly due to Gustavo's whims. The US state of Minnesota is his last port of call before he tries to give up the search.

James, whose biggest dream is to make a career in Hollywood , learns about the same on the day of the casting , but doesn't want to go there alone. So he convinces his friends to go with him. After Logan and Carlos are sorted out by an angry Gustavo, James gets his chance, but he fails too. But Kendall manages to convince the producer. Kendall's career was already safe until he decided not to come to Hollywood without his three friends. After some back and forth, Gustavo agrees to the boys' demands, with the condition that they do what he asked of them. So they get to Hollywood, where they have to prove themselves in the studio and also in their hotel, the Palmwoods, in front of record company bosses , the choleric Gustavo and the young talents who also live in Palmwoods, and learn to master life as a teenager in Hollywood.

season 1

The first season is mainly about the task of the band to successfully bring their first music album to market. They are initially supported by Gustavo, his assistant Kelly Wainright, Kendall's sister Katie and her mother, Kendall's girlfriend Jo Taylor, whom he met during the season, and the eccentric young actress Camille, who enters into a relationship with Logan.

Towards the end of the season there should be the band's first concert. However, this turns out to be difficult due to the kidnapping of the four by Gustavo's arch enemy Hawk, but in the end the band manages to hold their concert. Since the concert is a great success, the four of them go on a tour .

season 2

In the second season, Big Time Rush gain new experiences as a band, for example how to deal with fans, perform live or write their own songs. They come on television more often and are becoming more and more famous and successful, for example with their first number one hit. It also shows more about her private life than in the first season, so more deviated from Kendall, James, Logan and Carlos' music and more focused on the challenges in life. Towards the end of the season, it's also about their second album Elevate . The last episode then initiates the world tour and thus the film.

production

On March 12, 2010, Nickelodeon announced on a press release that a second season would be produced. The shooting started on July 19, 2010 and has been broadcast since September 25, 2010 in the USA and since February 6, 2011 in Germany. A third season with 20 episodes was ordered in May 2011 and produced in January 2012. The number of episodes in the third season has been reduced from 20 to 12. In August 2012, Nickelodeon announced the production of a fourth season of 13 episodes.

Original idea

The first original planning was about the four skaters Curt Knight, James Diamond, Carlos Garcia and Logan Mitchell, who are from Wisconsin . Curt has no little sister, but a big sister, and Curt's mother, Mrs. Knight, is played by another actress. Curt is played by Curt Hansen , the rest of the current cast. The name of the show and the band was Brand New Day . Brand New Day's debut single is This Is Our Someday , this single was played in a few short sections in the episode Big Time - Guru , but only sung by Logan Henderson. Griffin mentions in the pilot episode that he wants a bad boy, to which Curt agrees. The actors speak slightly different dialogues in this plot and different sets are used. The pilot episode was shot with this plot and the slightly changed cast, whereupon a decision was made against it. Very little came into the plot used at the end of the planned plot. Curt Hansen also had guest appearances as Dak Zevon in the episodes Big Time Photo and Big Time Concert, Part 1 .
