Blievenstorf is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). It is administered by the Neustadt-Glewe office based in the city of Neustadt-Glewe .

geography

The place on the southern edge of the Lewitz is in the southwest of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania about 35 kilometers southeast of Schwerin. Nearby cities are Neustadt-Glewe (six kilometers) and Parchim (14 km).

history

The first documentary mention comes from the year 1300. Even before this time the area was settled. Ceramic finds of urns and utensils prove this.

politics

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag. The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg. It shows a looking bull's head with torn off the neck fur and crown and the inscription “• GEMEINDE BLIEVENSTORF • LANDKREIS LUDWIGSLUST-PARCHIM”.

• Neo-Gothic brick village church from 1892 based on plans by Gotthilf Ludwig Möckel .
• Memorial stone from 1976 on the village square to the victims of the death march of April 1945, who, however, were not male prisoners of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp - as indicated on the plaque - but rather 60 women from a subcamp of the Ravensbrück concentration camp were driven by the SS towards Wöbbelin .

The federal highway 191 is about three kilometers away from Blievenstorf. The federal motorway 24 runs directly past the village, has a parking lot at Blievenstorf and can be reached via the Neustadt-Glewe junction in four kilometers. Blievenstorf is connected to Neustadt-Glewe via a bus connection.

Others

The OpenEcoLab of the German offshoot of Open Source Ecology has been under construction in Blievenstorf since 2015 and is intended to serve as a workshop and test site for open source hardware . A lease was signed in 2018.
