The 1964 Cadre 47/2 World Championship was the 37th World Championship, which was held in Cadre 45/2 until 1947 and from 1948 in Cadre 47/2. The tournament took place in West Berlin from September 16 to 20, 1964 . It was the third Cadre 47/2 World Championship in Germany.
history
In a world championship that was very balanced at the top, it was not clear who would be the new world champion until the last round. José Gálvez Manzano , Jos Vervest and Tony Schrauwen had to hope for a victory for the Dutchman. After his own win against Scholte, however, he had to watch Vervest's win against Wijnen, which made the best overall impression in the tournament. Vervest thus defended the title he had won in Düsseldorf. In the game against the Argentine Girves, he improved his own world record in the highest series (HS) to 366 .
Tournament mode
It was played in the round robin system up to 400 points. In the event of a tie in the MPs, the following order is taken:
- MP = match points
- GD = general average
- HS = maximum series
