Christoph Martschinko (born February 13, 1994 in Lebring-Sankt Margarethen ) is an Austrian football player . Martschinko has been playing for FK Austria Wien since the 2015/16 season .

Career

Christoph Martschinko started playing soccer at SV Lebring at the age of six . In 2008 he was spotted by scouts from Bundesliga club FC Red Bull Salzburg and then brought on to their junior team. With the Bulls he played for the academy and made his debut for the Red Bull Juniors in spring 2011 . After strong performances in the 2011/12 season, he signed his first professional contract with FC Red Bull Salzburg in May 2012. On the last transfer day in August 2012, he switched to SC Wiener Neustadt on loan and then celebrated his Bundesliga debut on September 15, 2012 in the 6-0 defeat against Wolfsberger AC when he came on for Mario Pollhammer in the 34th minute . From January 2014 to May 2015 he worked for the Bundesliga club SV Grödig .

For the 2015/16 season, the German Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim acquired the transfer rights to Martschinko in cooperation with the player consultancy agency Rogon Sportmanagement , whose managing director is Martschinko's advisor Roger Wittmann , and awarded him for one year with an option for three more years to FK Austria Wien . Martschinko was a regular player at Austria and played 33 Bundesliga games. For the 2016/17 season, Austria Wien finally acquired the transfer rights to Martschinko and provided him with a contract until June 30, 2019. In mid-January 2019, his contract was prematurely extended to summer 2022.

Christoph Martschinko has been working for various junior national teams of the ÖFB since 2009 .
