Cookstown ( Irish An Chorr Chríochach ) was one of the 26 Northern Irish districts that existed from 1973 to 2015. The district was in the traditional counties of Tyrone and Londonderry . The administrative seat was the city of Cookstown . Other significant places were Pomeroy , Moneymore , Coagh and Stewartstown . On April 1, 2015, it went on in the new District Mid Ulster .
The district was on the east bank of Lough Neagh .
