Daikondi ( Pashto : دايکندي, Dari :دایکندی) is a province ( velayat ) in central Afghanistan with 424,300 inhabitants.

It was formed on March 28, 2004 as the country's 33rd province by separating the northern part of Uruzgan Province .

Daikondi belongs to the Hazarajat region . Accordingly, the Hazara make up the majority of Daikondi's population.
