The Czechoslovak defending champion TJ ZKL Brno was able to win the title for the third and last time; in the final the team defeated the Czechoslovakian champion ASD Dukla Jihlava .

Mode and participants

The national champions of the game year 1966/67 of the European members of the IIHF as well as the defending champion TJ ZKL Brno were qualified for the competition. Since Brno had not become Czechoslovakian champions in the previous season, two teams from one country took part in this competition for the first time.

The competition was carried out in a knockout system . From this year onwards, each round only played back and forth instead of the previous four games. The defending champion Brno and Dukla Jihlava were seeded for the semifinals. Two other clubs received a bye in the first round.
