Gimme More (English for ". Give me more ") is a song by American pop - singer Britney Spears from her fifth studio album Blackout , which by US hip-hop - and R 'n' B - Musicians and producer Danja was produced.

background

The first single from Blackout is Gimme More , a dance song that was written by Keri Hilson and others and produced by Danja. With this song Spears also appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards . The performance was classified as an embarrassing failure by many media because Spears appeared in a bikini that was not appropriate to her figure, her dance steps were imprecise and she also appeared absent and disinterested, but it was precisely because of this that it became the most noticed performance.

Despite the performance, Gimme More rose to number 1 on the iTunes charts in the USA and Canada .

Gimme More reached number 3 in the US singles chart and was by then Spears' most successful single in the US since her debut single … Baby One More Time . In Canada, South Africa , Israel , Chile , South Korea and the Philippines , the single came to first place in the respective single charts. Furthermore, the single sold over 1,810,000 copies in the USA and was awarded platinum.

In Australia , the single sold over 35,000 times and the album over 70,000 times. The single was then awarded gold and the album platinum.

With remixes by Paul Oakenfold , Paul van Dyk and Junkie XL .
