Cannes International Film Festival 1946

The 1st Cannes International Film Festival in 1946 took place from September 20 to October 5, 1946.

French historian Georges Huisman was president of the first jury at the Cannes Film Festival . A golden palm was not awarded in the early years. At the end of the festival , the jury awarded 11 Grand Prix, which were awarded equally.
