Lukowezki ( Russian Луковецкий ) is a settlement in northwestern Russia . The place belongs to the Arkhangelsk Oblast and has 2535 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010). Lukowezki belongs administratively to the Kholmogorski rajon .

Lukowetski is located about 72 kilometers southeast of the Oblast capital Arkhangelsk . The place is located about four kilometers from the right bank of the Northern Dvina on Lake Dolgoye ( озеро Долгое ). The river Tyrwa ( Тырва ) runs through the village . About 15 kilometers west of Lukowetski, on the other side of the Northern Dvina, is the district administrative center of Kholmogory .

Lukowezki is the administrative center of the rural municipality Lukowezkoje ( Муниципальное образование "Луковецкое" ), which includes Lukowezki 14 places (five of them uninhabited) with a total of 2729 inhabitants (2010).

history

In January 1965, the first construction work began to build the settlement. In 1968 the place got its current name Lukowezki. Until 2003, Lukowetski had urban-type settlement status .

Transport and economy

In the north of the settlement is the Lukovetsky railway station of the same name, on the route of the Russian Northern Railway Arkhangelsk - Karpogory . There is a daily bus and train connection to Arkhangelsk.

The building company is the Lukowezki LPCh ( Луковецкий ЛПХ ) timber company .

There is a kindergarten, a middle school, a music school for children and an infirmary in the village.
