Michel Weber (born May 6, 1938 - August 18, 2011 ) was a German entrepreneur and racing driver who also competed with an Austrian driver's license.

life and career

Michel Weber's career as a racing driver began in 1961 with a Porsche 356 B Super 90 at a race in Trier . In the years that followed, he mainly competed in hill climbs and in 1963 became German mountain champion for GT and sports cars in a Porsche Carrera. In 1964 and 1965 he successfully drove the Porsche 904 on the mountain, including sixth on Rossfeld and the winner of the hill climb in the Axamer Lizum.

In the middle of his relatively short career, Weber switched to circuit racing , which he drove in a Porsche 908 and Porsche 917 . His greatest international success was third place in a Porsche 908 at the 1972 Le Mans 24-hour race together with Reinhold Joest and Mario Casoni . After that, Weber only took part in a few races due to a spinal disc disease and retired from racing as a driver.

In 1967 Michel Weber founded a car dealership in Offenbach am Main , where he initially represented Alfa Romeo. In 1982 he became a Ferrari dealer and gradually expanded the range to include Jaguar, Nissan, Lancia, Range Rover and MG. In July 2008 Tomas Bilic took over the company.

Michel Weber died on August 18, 2011 after a long and serious illness. He was married and had children and grandchildren.
