Nolan Seegert (born July 11, 1992 in Berlin ) is a German figure skater who, after a short career with several partners, has been increasingly successful in pair skating with Minerva-Fabienne Hase since 2014 .

Private

Nolan Seegert studies sports science and biology at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 2017 he became a member of the Bundeswehr sports promotion group .

Figure skating career

Single runner

Nolan Seegert, who trains at the Olympic base in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen , began athletic figure skating in 1999. His first coach was the former German pair skater Knut Schubert . Until 2009 he tried his luck as a single runner without really being able to develop further. Therefore, he started his career again as a pair skater.

With partners Josephine Klinger and Karolin Salatzki

In the 2007/08 season he competed for the first time with Josephine Klinger in pair skating. In the following year he formed a figure skating pair with Karolin Salatzki. With her he reached the next higher sporting level and made his debut in the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP). After participating in further competitions, they ended their partnership in 2010/11.

With partner Vanessa Bauer

With Vanessa Bauer , Seegert took part in the International Challenge Cup for the first time in March 2012 , where they won a bronze medal in the juniors. In the same year Bauer / Seegert competed in the German championships and won the junior gold medal . At the end of the third season together, Bauer and Seegert parted by mutual agreement.

At the club base, he noticed the young figure skater Minerva-Fabienne Hase and they began training together with Romy Austria and the Russian Dimitri Savine . They have engaged the Belgian Mark Pillay as choreographer . But now Seegert had passed the age to participate in junior competitions and they started right away in the master class. They contested their first joint competition at the NRW Championship, where they finished third, and in January 2015 they also finished third in their participation in the Mentor Nestlé Nesquik Toruń Cup . In 2015, Hase / Seegert took part in the European Championships in Stockholm and achieved a respectable 11th overall place (11th after the short program and 10th after the free freestyle). The first season together ended with the bronze medal at the International Challenge Cup . In the 2015/16 winter season they took part in the Nebelhorn Trophy (with a 6th place) and in the 2016/17 German championships, which they could not finish due to an injury to Hase.

By the end of February 2019 they had already won eleven international medals, including bronze at two ISU Challenger Series events. They took part in four ISU Championships as well as in the national elimination runs for participation in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games . In the latter, they failed to qualify because they were eliminated due to injury.

The ice skating couple represents Germany at the Figure Skating World Championships 2019 , together with the skaters Annika Hocke and Ruben Blommaert . A cutting off of the two pairs with an addition result of 28th place would in turn secure two German couples participation in the next world championships. As a long-term goal, Hase / Seegert have their eye on participation in the next Olympic Winter Games in Beijing in 2022 .

In 2019 they won the German figure skating championships in Stuttgart in 2018/19 for the first time after they had to admit defeat to Aljona Savchenko and Bruno Massot in the previous year . However, Savchenko / Massot have not participated in any international competitions (any more) since the 2018/19 winter season. At the European Figure Skating Championships 2019 in Minsk , Hase / Seegert took sixth place.

In autumn 2019 they won the bronze medal at the Grand Prix Cup of Russia . In 2020 they defended their German championship title in Oberstdorf .
