Parishes and marks around 1860

The local administrative structure was initially based on the former rulership boundaries, which led to complicated boundaries, especially in the Pfärrich-Eggenreute area. The border to the Oberamt Ravensburg also had several ex- and enclaves. Around 1820 there were 30 other mayor's offices in addition to the towns of Wangen and Isny: Amtzell, Beuren, Bolsternang, Christazhofen, Deuchelried, Eggenreute, Eglofs, Eisenharz, Emmelhofen, Enkenhofen, Friesenhofen, Göttlishofen, Holzleute, Immenried, Isny (suburb), Kißlegg, Menelzhofen, Neuravensburg, Neutrauchburg, Niederwangen, Pfärrich, Praßberg, Ratzenried, Rohrdorf, Sammisweiler, Schweinbach, Siggen, Sommersried, Wiggenreute and Winterstetten.

After the constitution of 1819 had prepared the basis for local self-government , the municipalities were constituted in the modern sense. By 1830 their number was reduced to 26. In 1823 Menelzhofen was incorporated into Neutrauchburg, and in 1825 Amtzell to Pfärrich. Furthermore, Bolsternang came to (large) wood people, Enkenhofen to Christazhofen, Sammisweiler to Sommersried, and Schweinbach to Neutrauchburg. Rohrdorf was also incorporated into Neutrauchburg, but regained its independence after a few years.

In 1842 the communities of Friesenhofen and Winterstetten were transferred to the Leutkirch district office. Eintürnenberg was umgemeindet from Immenried to Eintürnen (Oberamt Waldsee). Butzers, Goldegger and Tannberg came from Bodnegg (Oberamt Ravensburg) to the parish of Pfärrich.

In 1848 the mountain villages were reassigned from Isny Vorstadt to Rohrdorf.

In 1864 Bavaria ceded the Felderhalde with Spitalhof and Lukasreutehof to Württemberg. The area was assigned to the city of Isny.

In 1911 Isny Vorstadt was incorporated into Isny.

In 1934 Emmelhofen, Sommersried and Wiggenreute were incorporated into Kißlegg, Eggenreute after Amtzell.
