Oberlosa is a district of the city of Plauen in the south of the city . The district is identical to the Oberlosa district and is a village in Plauen.

Oberlosa is located in the south of Plauen and borders on four other districts of Plauen and on three districts of two communities in the Vogtland district .

The area of ​​the village consists of 71.1% agricultural land and 16.2% forest . The remaining area is streets, residential and industrial areas. In the south of the village is the highest point in Plauen, the 525 meter high Culmberg . To the north of Oberlosa is Plauen's local mountain , the 504 meter high Kemmler .

history

In 1265 the neighboring district of Unterlosa is mentioned as in inferiori Lasan . The counterpart Oberlosa ( in superiori Lasan ) does not appear. In 1266 Cletto de Lasan appears in documents and only in 1328 a distinction is made between New Lazan and Upper Lazan . It was a square village in a block corridor . The place belonged to the Plauen office until the 19th century . The municipality of Oberlosa later belonged to the administrative authority of Plauen and then to the district of Plauen-Land until it was incorporated into the then still independent city of Plauen on July 1, 1950 .

politics

Local council

Oberlosa elected a local council for the first time in 2009 . This consists of five members. For all previous elections on June 7, 2009, May 25, 2014 and May 26, 2019, only the Oberlosa citizens' initiative took part, providing all five local councils. The voter turnout increased continuously from 46.9% in 2009 to 57.6% in 2014 to 70.1% in 2019.

Ulrich Scheufler was the honorary mayor until October 2019. He was followed on October 2nd by Janes Trawinski.

Culture and sights

The theologian and astronomer Georg Samuel Dörffel worked in the previous building of the Oberlosa church, built in 1786, from 1672 to 1684 , before he was appointed superintendent in Weida in 1684 . In the church there is an organ that was built by Johann Gottlob and Christian Wilhelm Trampeli in 1788 and completely renovated in 1986. In the middle of the chancel there is a baptismal font, the lid of which also serves as a lectern. The parents of the famous pianist Clara Schumann were born in the church on June 23, 1816 . Wieck (1819–1896), Friedrich Wieck and Mariane born. Tromlitz , married. Since September 17, 2011 the church has been called "Stephanuskirche". The name consecration took place on the occasion of the 225th anniversary of the parish fair.

On the Kemmler north of Oberlosa there is a Bismarck column that can be used as a lookout tower.

In the southwestern part Oberlosas is the junction Plauen-south of Highway 72 . The motorway crosses Oberlosa from southwest to northeast. At the junction, the A 72 is crossed by the federal highway 92 , which leads from the south with a slight curve to the north and forms the western border of the village in the northern part.
